An "Extra" Gift of Mercy

After a year of political instability, strife and division, all while facing the most critical election of our lifetime, we now can enjoy a short reprieve in the joy of the Christmas Season and the birth of Christ. This is also the time of year when we put politics aside to celebrate the birth of Christ, give thanks and reminisce by way of casual fellowship at our annual Christmas party. But, this year we have much more to be thankful for. The enormous victory over the Democrat regime making Donald Trump our 47th President was certainly an "extra" gift and worthy of a "MAGA Christmas Celebration." So this year we also gave glory & honor for His gift of mercy laid upon our nation.

Tim Cross

No Time to Waste

Our celebration involved a pot-luck style buffet and a dessert & item auction. Chairman Cross gave the invocation giving thanks for our Lord & Savior and our election victory. After dinner, Chairman Cross gave a short speech about the future priorities of the GOP, and especially winning Senate seats in 2026, emphasizing that we have no time to waste and the work begins the first of the year. He also stated that the GOP needs volunteers and money to operate and get candidates elected.

Gail Eichorst

The Recipient of the 2024

"Pat Camp Volunteer Award"

Each year during the Christmas Party, the Muskegon GOP honors one of our hard working volunteers with the "Pat Camp" Volunteer award. This award is presented to someone who has noticeably worked hard and even went above and beyond their call of duty. The award is named after the longest standing active Republican member and volunteer, serving Muskegon County and the GOP for many decades. This years recipient was Gail Eichorst, who is the epidomy of what a dedicated volunteer is. Not only is she one of our hardest working, dedicated volunteers, she is also one of the kindest hearted people we know. Congratulations Gail! You are greatly appreciated and loved by us all!

Pat Camp

Remembering A Legacy of Service

Pat Camp, who our volunteer award is named in honor of, has been our beloved matriarch and has helped to navigate the political chaos and it saddens us that Pat passed away this year in July at 87 years old, after a long battle with cancer. In 1965, she and her family moved to Muskegon and had been a RN at Mercy, General, as well as Hackley Hospital for 30 years, prior to her retirement from there, in 2001. She took on many leadership roles throughout her career on various medical boards and up until a year ago served on the Muskegon County Board of Canvassers and was a Board member of the Finance Development Authority for the City of Muskegon. Pat was legendary for going above and beyond the call of duty in any endeavor, including her service with the Republican Party, and is dearly missed by those who knew her.

Jesus Triumphs Over All

2024 has been a year of emotional whirlwinds, trials and surprises, and thanks be to God almighty, we have come through it triumphantly. While we are ecstatic and in awe of President Trump's grand come-back, give thanks for this merciful blessing, but most importanly, give thanks for our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, who truimphs over all.
